Praising Christ through music, drama and the visual
At Knox, we consider the arts a powerful form of worship. We appreciate your talents and treasures, whatever they might be, and have many opportunities. If you prefer to discuss arts, we have book and film groups that meet regularly.
Three praise bands (teams) of dedicated and talented volunteer instrumental and vocal musicians help lead worship each month during our contemporary services. Each team has a different and creative dynamic that helps the congregation praise and glorify the Lord.
The chancel choir is a dedicated and musically talented ensemble that rehearses on Wednesday evenings and leads worship in the traditional services. Choir members sing nine months out of the year.
Celebration Choir (7th Graders to High School Seniors)
The Celebration Choir rehearses August through May. The choir sings at both worship services each month. During the spring, Celebration Choir takes their music ministry on tour by performing a musical throughout our community. The first week of June, they take their powerful message on an out-of-town tour.
God’s Children Sing (ages 0 through 5 with caregiver) learn music skills.
Preschool Kids learn music and Bible stories, and sing at occasional services.
JOYful Noise (kindergarten through second grade) sing numerous times at special services each year.
Praise Kids (third through sixth grade) perform an annual musical and sing at numerous services.
Starting in third grade, people of all ages have the opportunity to build music skills through playing and performing on handbells and handchimes.
Woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings come out in full force for our musicals and special performances during the holidays.
Scripted, meaningful dramas have long been an important part of our worship during contemporary services.
Our sound, light and video teams work behind the scenes to make our worship experience meaningful.
