The Big Search

Do you have a heart for missing and exploited children?  But you don’t know what to do about it.

Here is your chance.  On Thursday, October 17, Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, volunteers (18 and older) all over the KC Metro and all over the country will visit restaurants, gas stations, businesses armed with booklets and baseball cards with photos and physical descriptions of these children.  Last year, merchants gave credible information that led to the recovery of 20 of the 30 children in the info.  This year’s effort focuses on children from seven counties instead of two.

 How can you get involved?

The Knox session approved promotion of the Big Search to encourage our members to help with The Big Search.  You sign up to be part of a team of four people. Teams travel together and visit in two-somes with employees of targeted, everyday businesses.

Sign up to volunteer for a 4-hour shift at  Recruit your team of four Knox friends and all complete the form.  Select Johnson County, the same date and the same time ( 8-noon or 1 to 5 pm or 6 to 10pm).  Then where it asks if you are with a group,  type in Knox Church.  You will receive confirmation via email of your assignment.  Then show up for your shift, receive training and supplies.  Also wear a Knox t-shirt!
